This bill amends education law to include certain educators in the excessive teacher turnover prevention program, which aims to reduce the number of teachers leaving the profession. Specifically, it clarifies that teachers, teacher aides, and teacher assistants who work with children with disabilities and are employed by schools funded under section 4410 of the education law (often referred to as 4410 schools) or private schools established under chapter 853 of the laws of 1976 (known as 853 schools) will now be eligible for support from this program.
