This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi to issue up to $150,000 in general obligation bonds, which are backed by the full faith and credit of the state, to help Alcorn County fund the construction of its Fire Department Southwest Station No. 2 and an accompanying helipad. The State Bond Commission, referred to as the "Commission," will manage the issuance and sale of these bonds, with the proceeds going into a dedicated fund called the "2026 Alcorn County - Fire Department Southwest Station No. 2 Fund." This fund will be held separately in the State Treasury, and any remaining money after the project is completed will be used to pay off the bonds. The bonds will mature within 25 years and will be exempt from state taxes. This act provides the complete authority for issuing these bonds and takes effect on July 1, 2026, with no bonds to be issued after July 1, 2030.
