This bill modifies existing provisions for College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnerships, which allow high school students to enroll in community college courses. Specifically, it removes the requirement for a principal's recommendation for a student to participate in a CCAP partnership, and instead mandates that partnership agreements include protocols allowing students to complete a single application for their entire duration as a special part-time student in the program. Additionally, the bill eliminates a limit of four community college courses per term for students taking up to 15 units under a CCAP agreement, provided those units are part of an academic program designed to award both a high school diploma and a college degree or certificate. Finally, the reporting requirements for CCAP partnerships are changed from tracking the number of courses taken to reporting the number of high school pupils who successfully complete 12 or more college units by graduation, complete a certificate, or fulfill the requirements for an associate degree or an associate degree for transfer.
