This bill mandates that the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, referred to as the "County Board," must hire a Constituent Services Liaison before the start of the 2026-2027 school year. The President of the County Board, in consultation with the board's legal counsel, will negotiate the employment terms for this liaison. The liaison will serve as a bridge between the County Board and the community, helping residents access services from Anne Arundel County Public Schools and other education-related agencies, and will work with community groups to support the school system's goals. Importantly, this individual must have prior experience in special education. The County Board will determine the liaison's annual salary, and the President of the County Board will have the authority to remove the liaison according to the terms of their employment agreement.
