This bill temporarily reduces vehicle registration fees for certain types of vehicles, specifically Class A (passenger cars and station wagons), Class D (motorcycles), and Class E (trucks), for residents of and vehicles registered in the Sixth Legislative District. These reduced fees will remain in effect until a replacement bridge for the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge opens to general traffic, at which point the fee reductions will be repealed. The bill also specifies that the Maryland Transportation Authority must notify the Department of Legislative Services within five days of the bridge reopening, and the act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
