This bill amends the administrative code of New York City to provide longevity bonuses for first-grade firefighters and those promoted from the firefighter rank, by adding a new section 15-110.1. This new section stipulates that any member of the New York City Fire Department with twenty-five years of uniformed service who retires will receive an additional five percent of their highest grade of pay for their rank, as defined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement, added to their salary for pension benefit calculations. Furthermore, for each year of service beyond twenty-five, an additional one percent of that highest grade of pay will be added, up to a maximum of fifteen percent, and this additional credit will be capped upon completion of thirty-five years of service.
