This bill strengthens existing laws by requiring each county school board to reevaluate the effectiveness of their policies against harassment, intimidation, or bullying, and to modify them if necessary. It also mandates that parents, guardians, and students be given the opportunity to provide feedback on these policies, and that any changes made to the policies must be discussed in open meetings accessible to the public. Furthermore, county school boards will be required to report to the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education Accountability (LOCEA), a legislative committee that reviews education matters, about how well their anti-bullying policies are working. The bill also clarifies that amendments made during the 2026 legislative session will take effect immediately upon passage.
