This bill enacts a new section to Missouri law that expands sales tax exemptions for certain purchases. Specifically, it exempts equipment and materials bought by contractors or subcontractors for developing and building public improvements to real property and public facilities that will be owned by the U.S. government, the state, or any local government entity, as outlined in approved development plans. This exemption is in addition to other existing sales tax exemptions and applies to both state and local sales taxes, as defined by section 32.085 of Missouri law, which refers to local sales tax laws.
