This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi to issue up to $25,000 in general obligation bonds, which are essentially loans backed by the state's full faith and credit, to help the Town of Derma purchase a new truck bed and related equipment for its fire department truck. The funds will be placed in a special state treasury fund called the "2026 Town of Derma Fire Department Fund," and any remaining money after the purchase will be used to pay back the bonds. The State Bond Commission, a group responsible for issuing state bonds, will manage the sale of these bonds and ensure the funds are used for their intended purpose. The bonds must be issued by July 1, 2030, and the act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
