AI Summary

This bill expands the South Carolina Elevator Code to include elevators installed in single private homes, which are elevators used within a person's own residence. It mandates that any installation, modification, or alteration of these private residence elevators must undergo a final inspection by the Director of the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation before the elevator can be used. Following this inspection and approval, the owner of the home must register the elevator with the department, and the Director will maintain a database of all registered private residence elevators.
