The resolution highlights that myositis is difficult to diagnose, often leading to delayed treatment and challenges in finding expert healthcare providers, and that it significantly reduces quality of life, with no current cure and shortened life expectancy, particularly for certain forms like inclusion body myositis, and that women and people of color experience pronounced health disparities. It also acknowledges the efforts of The Myositis Association, a leading patient advocacy group, in organizing this nationwide observance and encourages all Hoosiers to learn about myositis and support affected families.
