AI Summary

This bill authorizes and regulates "terramation," a process of converting unembalmed human remains into soil, in Kansas, requiring all terramation facilities to be licensed and comply with building codes, zoning laws, and environmental standards. It mandates that only licensed terramation facility operators can perform this process, which requires a signed authorization form from an authorizing agent and a coroner's permit. The bill also prohibits the terramation of bodies with potentially hazardous implants unless removed, ensures proper identification and packaging of terramated remains, establishes associated fees, and updates existing laws to include references to terramation where cremation was previously mentioned.
