This bill establishes a task force to study issues related to grocery store beer permits, which are licenses allowing grocery stores to sell beer. The task force will examine the possibility of limiting the number of these permits a town can issue based on its population and review the current rules for deciding who gets a permit. The task force will be made up of twelve members appointed by legislative leaders and the Governor, including the Commissioner of Consumer Protection, and some members can be state legislators. The task force will have administrative support from the staff of the General Assembly's consumer protection committee and is required to submit a report with its findings and recommendations by January 1, 2027, at which point it will be dissolved.
