This bill amends existing law concerning the Tallassee City Board of Education in Elmore and Tallapoosa Counties, Alabama, by allowing board members to receive compensation. Previously, board members served without pay, but this bill, effective June 1, 2026, establishes that each board member shall receive reasonable compensation in the form of an expense allowance, not to exceed $900 per month, in addition to actual travel and necessary expenses. This expense allowance will convert to a salary for all board members starting with the next term of office after June 1, 2026, and this compensation will be subject to specific legal requirements.
