This resolution expresses the profound sympathy of the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky upon the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., offering heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. It formally adjourns the Senate in honor and loving memory of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., recognizing his significant contributions as a civil rights leader, activist, and international diplomat who championed causes such as economic empowerment, educational opportunities, political empowerment, and social justice, and who was instrumental in movements against apartheid and for peace. The resolution also directs the Clerk of the Senate to transmit a copy to Senator Gerald Neal.
