This bill makes minor, non-substantive changes to existing California law regarding permits for restricted species, which are specific wild animals that are generally prohibited from being imported, transported, possessed, or released live. The law currently requires anyone wanting to import or transport such a species to apply for a permit from the Department of Fish and Wildlife, in conjunction with the Department of Food and Agriculture, and to provide specific information on their written application, including the number and scientific name of the animals, their point of arrival, the purpose of import, and the names and addresses of the sender and receiver. This bill simply updates the capitalization of the word "State" to "state" in the section detailing the point of first arrival and changes "such" to "the" when referring to the species.
