This bill makes technical, nonsubstantive changes to existing law regarding Medi-Cal coverage for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), which are types of healthcare facilities that provide primary care services to underserved populations. Specifically, it allows an FQHC or RHC that currently has multiple different per-visit prospective payment system (PPS) rates, which are the predetermined payment amounts per patient visit, to choose to combine these into a single PPS rate that will apply to all services provided by that facility. This consolidated rate would then be subject to the usual annual adjustments.
