This bill requires local fire departments, or town officials if no fire department exists, to report any fires involving "alternative energy systems" to the state fire marshal, with "alternative energy systems" defined as those that collect energy from renewable sources like wind, solar, hydro, or geothermal to produce heat, cooling, or electricity. These reports, which must be submitted as soon as possible and include details on the fire's cause, origin, circumstances, financial damage, and any injuries or fatalities, will be compiled by the state fire marshal into an annual summary report sent to legislative committees by February 15th of each year.
