This bill modifies the disability waiver rate system for unit-based services, which are services like employment exploration, development, and support, as well as individualized home supports and positive support services, provided outside of a day program or residential support service. The bill specifically changes the limits on how many hours of individualized home supports with training and individualized home supports with family training can be billed. Previously, there were daily limits of three consecutive hours and six total hours per day for individualized home supports with training, and six total hours per day for individualized home supports with family training. Now, for individualized home supports with training, the limit will be 2,190 hours per service authorization year, while individualized home supports with family training will still have a limit of six total hours per day. These new limits, effective January 1, 2027, or upon federal approval, do not prevent individuals from using other disability waiver services on the same day or apply to individuals who meet specific criteria for residential support services.
