This bill appropriates a total of $312,202,000 in "Other State Funds" for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026. Specifically, $279,169,200 is allocated from the McCormick Place Expansion Project Fund to cover debt service on the Authority's McCormick Place Expansion Project Bonds and related expenses, which are financial obligations tied to the expansion of the McCormick Place convention center. Additionally, $15,000,000 is appropriated from the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority Incentive Fund for the Authority's general operations and incentive grant programs, and $18,032,800 is designated from the Chicago Travel Industry Promotion Fund as a grant to Choose Chicago, an organization responsible for promoting tourism in Chicago. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2026.
