The bill clarifies that the provisions related to these diversion programs, and any other laws, are not intended to override or prevent other current or future diversion programs that occur before a trial or even before formal charges are filed (pretrial or precomplaint diversion). The existing law already states this legislative intent, and this bill simply refines the wording slightly.
