This bill amends existing Idaho law to revise how the Secretary of State prepares election ballots and related documents, ensuring uniformity for statewide issues and specifying how candidates' names are listed. Importantly, for larger political entities, defined as those with over 25,000 registered voters in the last general election, the order of candidates' names on ballots for federal, state, county, and local offices will be rotated according to a method determined by the Secretary of State. For all other elections, the order of candidate names will be determined by a random alphabet selection process. The bill also clarifies that a candidate generally cannot appear on a ballot for more than one partisan or one judicial office, with an exception for precinct committeemen seeking an additional office.
