This bill makes minor, non-substantive changes to existing law regarding how state agencies verify contractor licenses before awarding public contracts. Currently, state agencies must check with the Contractors State License Board to ensure a contractor is properly licensed for the work. Alternatively, agencies can accept a contractor's pocket license or certificate and a signed statement confirming its validity. The bill simply updates the wording to be more gender-neutral and to change "prior to" to "before," without altering the core requirements for verifying contractor licensure.
