This bill modifies the existing Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) program, which helps older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities find and access long-term services and supports (LTSS). Currently, ADRC programs are operated jointly by area agencies on aging and independent living centers. The key change is that the California Department of Aging will not be allowed to cancel an ADRC program's designation if one of its partners, either the area agency on aging or the independent living center, loses its designation or is temporarily unable to operate. Instead, the remaining partner can continue to run the ADRC program on its own for a period of one to two years while a new partner is found, ensuring that services to the public remain uninterrupted.
