This bill would update existing law to allow the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) to charge fees for educational materials and exhibits related to fish and wildlife. Currently, the DFW can charge for the use of exhibits and materials at fairs and sportsmen's shows. This bill expands the types of public uses for these materials to include outdoor sporting and recreation shows, state and local governments, civic engagement organizations, and community engagement events. It also clarifies that the DFW can charge a fee, not exceeding their reasonable costs, for the distribution or use of these educational materials or for admission to exhibits. The bill also allows the department to accept donations to help cover expenses related to making these educational resources available.
