This bill amends existing law to designate private duty nursing services provided to children under 21 years old by a home health agency as "specialty care" for the purpose of reimbursement through Medi-Cal, California's state-administered health care program for low-income individuals that is partly funded by the federal Medicaid program. This change specifically applies to Medi-Cal reimbursement under the main provisions of the Medi-Cal Act but will not affect reimbursement under the Protect Access to Health Care Act of 2024, a voter-approved initiative.
