The bill also mandates that the claimed recycled content does not exceed the amount of third-party certified recycled content introduced into the supply chain for that product line and that claims are based on actual recycled content used, utilizing specified methods like chain of custody models. For products other than plastic food containers, this information must be provided to the Attorney General upon request, with provisions to protect confidential business information, and manufacturers can opt for an independent third-party audit to verify their claims.
