This resolution commends the Orange Heart Medal Foundation for its dedication to honoring and supporting Vietnam War veterans who suffered serious health issues, including cancers and birth defects in their descendants, due to exposure to Agent Orange, a chemical defoliant used by the U.S. military. The foundation, established by Navy veteran Ken Gamble who was personally affected by Agent Orange exposure, designs and awards the Orange Heart Medal to recognize these veterans and their families, has distributed approximately 4,000 medals, and actively advocates for medical care, treatment, and recognition for these veterans, while also working to create a permanent monument and scholarship programs for their descendants.
