AI Summary

This bill requires the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to provide cognitive behavioral therapy to certain children in restrictive custody who have been adjudicated for serious felony offenses, specifically class A or class B designated felony acts. The DJJ must first evaluate these children to see if they would benefit from this therapy, and if so, they must attend at least 200 hours of it or until they are released from restrictive custody. Additionally, the DJJ must annually report on the number of children who received this therapy and their three-year recidivism rate, with this anonymized data being shared with the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and the director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, starting by July 1, 2027.
