This bill makes a minor, nonsubstantive change to existing California law that governs the licensing and certification of various healing arts professions, such as doctors and therapists, which are overseen by boards within the Department of Consumer Affairs. Currently, these boards are prohibited from requiring applicants for licensure or certification to meet the standards of a specific private voluntary association or professional society, with some exceptions. This bill simply clarifies the existing language by adding a comma after "professional society" within the relevant section of the Business and Professions Code, without altering the substance of the law.
