The Secretary of the Senate, Chief Clerk of the Assembly, and the Legislative Counsel Bureau, which is the office that drafts legislative measures, will be responsible for ensuring that all official legislative publications, indexes, journals, databases, and electronic systems consistently use and display these complete bill numbers, making necessary technical adjustments to implement this change, which will apply to bills introduced in the 2027-28 Regular Session and all subsequent regular and special sessions starting on or after January 1, 2027, with the stated goal of improving public access, clarity, and transparency in how legislative records are kept.
