This bill establishes a minimum hourly wage of $19.75 for "approved agricultural employees" and "corresponding employees," which are defined to include temporary or seasonal agricultural workers from outside the state whose employment has been approved by state agencies, as well as state residents or other non-approved workers performing similar tasks for the same employer in the same county. Beginning in 2027, this minimum wage will be adjusted annually based on the cost-of-living adjustment for Social Security benefits. The bill also makes an appropriation by increasing revenue to the Industrial Relations Unpaid Wage Fund, a continuously appropriated fund used for remitting collected wages, and expands its uses.
