This bill appropriates $2,000,000 from the State General Fund, which is the state's main operating budget, to the City of Indianola for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027, to help cover the costs of building a new public safety municipal complex. This complex will house the city's fire station, police department, and municipal court at the intersection of State Highway 82 and State Highway 49. The Legislature also intends for Indianola to use this state funding to help secure federal funds for the project, and the money will be disbursed by the State Treasurer upon proper authorization. The act will become effective on July 1, 2026.
