Similarly, for vulnerable adults, the bill defines "medical neglect" for guardians as the failure to seek appropriate health care for a life-threatening condition, with similar exceptions to protect guardians from liability when they are seeking care, have made reasonable efforts, or when the medical situation involves known complications, limited benefits, conflicting advice, or the pursuit of alternative treatments. The bill also makes technical corrections and declares an emergency, setting an effective date of July 1, 2026.
