This bill requires juvenile court clerks to collect and submit specific data about juvenile offenders to the Administrative Office of the Courts, a state agency responsible for managing court operations. This data includes the child's sex, age, race, the offense charged, where it occurred (including if it was in a school safety zone), who referred the case (like a school district), the case's outcome, and any monetary sanctions imposed, such as fines, fees, court costs, and restitution. Clerks must also report on the status of collecting these monetary sanctions. This information will be uploaded regularly, at least weekly, into the Georgia Juvenile Data Exchange, a database maintained by the Administrative Office of the Courts. The Administrative Office of the Courts will then compile this data into a report by April 15, 2027, and annually thereafter, making it publicly available.
