This bill establishes a new specialty license plate for motor vehicles in Louisiana, to be known as the "2023 and 2025 LSU Fighting Tigers College World Series Champions" plate, provided at least one thousand people apply for it. The plate, which can be used on passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, and vans, will feature the specified championship wording and will be designed in collaboration with the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors, adhering to existing design regulations. Applying for this plate signifies an applicant's consent to share their name, address, and birth date with Louisiana State University. In addition to standard license plate taxes, there will be an annual royalty fee of twenty-five dollars, which will be donated to LSU to fund academic or financial need-based scholarships, and a three-dollar and fifty-cent handling fee for the Department of Public Safety and Corrections to cover administrative costs. The creation of these plates is contingent upon a contract authorizing the use of LSU's logo, and the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections is tasked with creating the necessary rules and regulations for implementation.
