This bill allows brewers in Georgia to operate up to two "satellite tasting rooms," which are separate locations under the same ownership as the brewery where they can sell their own malt beverages directly to consumers for personal use, not for resale. These satellite tasting rooms are exempt from a specific limitation on how many barrels of malt beverages can be transferred between a brewer's licensed premises, though these transfers must still be reported quarterly. Additionally, satellite tasting rooms can also hold a retail license to sell other alcoholic beverages purchased from licensed wholesalers, manufacturers, and importers, but this does not expand the brewer's distribution rights to sell to other retailers. The bill also clarifies that "licensed premises" now includes these satellite tasting rooms and defines "common ownership" as 100 percent shared ownership. This change aims to provide brewers with more flexibility in reaching consumers, with provisions for rules and regulations taking effect upon approval and other provisions on July 1, 2026.
