This bill authorizes the Municipal Court of the City of Mableton to collect a technology fee, not to exceed $10.00, on each criminal and quasi-criminal fine paid to the court. These collected fees are designated for specific technological needs of the Municipal Court and the city's police department, including the purchase, lease, maintenance, and installation of computer hardware and software, imaging and communication equipment, and police department technology such as cameras and drones, as well as supporting 9-1-1 emergency response systems. The funds must be kept in a separate account, overseen by the municipal court clerk and the city's chief financial officer, and are subject to audit, ensuring they are used only for the authorized purposes, and can also be used to reimburse the city's information technology department for services provided.
