This bill, titled the "Career-Connected Learning Pathways Act of 2026," amends the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 to empower states to create and maintain publicly accessible, searchable online directories of career and technical education (CTE) programs of study and career pathways. These directories will include essential information such as the program's name, description, location, the industry or career cluster it prepares students for, the sequence of courses, any available dual enrollment credits or postsecondary credentials, affiliated institutions or workforce boards, work-based learning opportunities, and evidence of alignment with labor market needs. The directories must use standard, open, linked, and interoperable data formats and be updated at least annually, allowing users to search by location, industry, and available credentials, thereby providing clearer pathways for students to connect their education to future careers.
