This bill increases the continuing medical education requirements for physician assistants (PAs) from twenty-five hours annually to fifty hours biannually, with specific dates for the new biannual period and renewal process. It also removes restrictions that previously prevented PAs from providing charitable care unless they had liability coverage, and now permits PAs to render aid under "The School and Youth Programs Concussion Act" and "The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act," allowing them to provide return-to-play clearance for student athletes in these situations. Furthermore, the bill eliminates restrictive covenants, such as non-compete agreements, that limit a PA's ability to practice, with an exception for the purchase and sale of a practice under certain conditions.
