This bill establishes a Bureau of Public Protection within the Department of the Attorney General, which will be led by an assistant attorney general and staffed with various legal professionals and experts. The Attorney General can issue civil investigative demands to gather information and must submit an annual report to the legislature detailing the bureau's activities and outcomes. The bill takes effect immediately upon passage.
