This bill establishes a recreational alligator hunting license and lottery system in Louisiana, authorizing the commission to create rules for an alligator harvest tag lottery with a $50 nonrefundable entry fee for applications, while successful applicants receive tags at no additional cost. All money collected from lottery applications and any auction proceeds will be directed to the Conservation Fund, a dedicated fund for conservation efforts. This legislation will become effective only if another specific bill, Senate Bill No. 244 of the 2026 Regular Session, is also enacted.
