It also clarifies that insurers using risk-relevant data in automated systems to set policy prices are exempt, as are refusals to extend credit based on information from consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Violations of this prohibition can lead to penalties and allow individuals to file private lawsuits.
