This bill authorizes the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to submit requests to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency overseeing Medicare and Medicaid programs, for approval to allow legally responsible individuals, such as family members, to provide personal care services. These services, which assist individuals with daily living activities, will be limited to 25 hours per week per recipient, based on the assessed level of care, and will be subject to oversight by the department.
