This resolution commends Port City Brewing Company, a brewery in Alexandria that serves beer across Virginia, Washington D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic region, as it celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026. The resolution highlights that Port City Brewing Company, founded in February 2011 by Bill and Karen Butcher, is the longest-operating brewery in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and is recognized for its diverse beer offerings, its role as a community gathering spot, and its numerous awards, including 16 Great American Beer Festival medals and the 2015 Great American Beer Festival Small Brewery of the Year honor. Furthermore, the resolution acknowledges the brewery's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, as well as its pride and distinction brought to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The General Assembly will prepare a copy of this resolution to present to Port City Brewing Company to express their admiration for its contributions.
