This resolution establishes the Senate Parent Accountability for Student Success Study Committee, a group of five Senators appointed by the President of the Senate, to investigate rising student misconduct, declining parental engagement in academics, and increasing chronic absenteeism, all of which are negatively impacting the educational environment. The committee, led by a chairperson designated by the President, will study these issues and propose necessary actions or legislation, meeting as needed and funded by the Senate's appropriations, with its members receiving standard legislative allowances for up to five days of work unless extended. The committee is tasked with filing a report of its findings and recommendations, which must be approved by a majority vote of a quorum before being submitted to the Secretary of the Senate by December 1, 2026, at which point the committee will be dissolved.
