This bill, by creating a new section of Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) Chapter 65, prohibits local governments, including cities, counties, and various forms of consolidated or unified governments, from enacting or enforcing rules that limit the number of people who can live in a dwelling unit to fewer than two per bedroom or that restrict occupancy based on the occupants' relationships or marital status. However, this prohibition does not prevent local governments from enforcing existing safety regulations, such as the state building code or any uniform codes or administrative rules concerning fire safety, building construction, or general safety.
