This resolution commends the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Lambda Gamma Omega Chapter for its 50 years of service and development of its members and support for the Virginia Beach community. Established on June 5, 1976, as the first African American Greek-lettered organization chartered in Virginia Beach, the chapter has grown to over 100 members who contribute their expertise to initiatives in education, health, the arts, and financial literacy. The resolution also acknowledges the chapter's role in chartering a chapter at Virginia Wesleyan University and its cultivation of local partnerships. The commendation is made in recognition of the chapter's golden anniversary, celebrating its significant impact on Virginia Beach, the Tidewater area, and beyond, and the Clerk of the House of Delegates is directed to prepare a copy of this resolution for the chapter as an expression of admiration.
