This resolution establishes the House Study Committee on Georgia Department of Transportation Contracting, a group of ten members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker, to examine issues related to highway construction contracts. The committee will study complex contract undertakings, the impact of utility movements on project timelines, and the utility adjustment schedule used in Georgia. It will also analyze the oversight, management, and operations of highway construction projects, as well as any governing laws or policies for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), with the goal of recommending actions or legislation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The committee will meet as needed, and its legislative members will receive standard allowances for their service, funded by the House of Representatives. The committee is set to be abolished on December 1, 2026, and its findings and recommendations, if any, will be reported to the Clerk of the House of Representatives.
