Michael Walker for his 17 years of service on the board of directors of the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia (WFV), a nonprofit organization dedicated to acquiring and conserving land in Virginia for hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation. The resolution highlights Mr. Walker's legal expertise and his contributions to the WFV's fiscal sustainability, legal compliance, and accountability. Under his leadership, the WFV acquired or partnered to acquire nearly 15,000 acres of permanently conserved land, awarded over $1,000,000 in grants through the Virginia Wildlife Grant Program to connect citizens with the outdoors, and implemented coastal resiliency projects on thousands of acres, including restoring hydrology and wetland ecology and constructing living shorelines. The General Assembly expresses its admiration for his commitment to conserving Virginia's natural resources and providing opportunities for outdoor activities for present and future generations.
